You are asking the wrong question.
You dont know what your wanting to do and neither does anyone else.

Stop asking the same question in multiple threads and figure out what it is your wanting to do. Find out what it is really called.

My guess of what your trying to say is debugging something.
That is done with a debugger such as ollydbg, IDA pro, Sysdebug, SoftIce

Now go dig around and find out what it is your really wanting to know.

yes you need to change the scripts before running a program really otherwise you need to memory edit if the program is running to mess with the process,
otherwise you can dead list a program in a debugger or hex editor,
