This version requires no activation or product key.

I installed it one day, and it worked perfectly. Then, I had to system restore my computer to the day before. And now, Windows doesn't seem to want to install Office 2007 anymore. I've already deleted and uninstalled the old files (Office 12 folder and whatnot). But during the installation, it gives me the same error it's been giving me for the past three days: 1714. It thinks there's some older version of 2007 on my computer. Then it tells me to look in some help file in a temporary folder, and all that tells me to do is to 'look for my product key'. Rolling Eyes

Could someone help me find out what's wrong?

I know one solution:

BUY Office 2007. Don't use the Blue editions.

Unfortunately, I also downloaded the free trial of Office 2007 from the Microsoft web site. It gave me the same error. Confused

I have been using Office 2007 Blue editon for over a year now.
It is great, no Cd key or keygen needed.
Makes everything simple.
I have never had a problem with this version.
I also have another version ( not blue edition)
The stupid christmas turkey keygen thing NEVER works.
Copy paste copy paste 1 billion times and the keys never work.

For those of you who don't know what Microsoft Office 2007 Blue Edition is.
It is the full pack of microsoft office 2007 made ONLY for people working in Microsoft. It is made for them only so no keys will be wasted for comercial use. Also it makes it easier for the Microsoft company to install them.
Someone working in Microsoft must have leached it out and now many people have a copy. No CD-key
