Because:

1. You are changing the value to a value not divisible by 8.
2. You are trying to do a code injection.
3. Go to the flash section, you will learn all about it.

Labyrnth is pointing out how been bound by the parameters of the box will get you nowhere in gamehacking. It is essentially 'essential' to be able to think outside of the box.
