hi all
i have a q about finding correct byte for patching a file in cheat engine, bcs cheat engine show me a lot of address for this and i cant find the correct address. see this:

(replace any "*" with ".")

Wow man, you're trying to patch one byte indeed!

Not gonna happen, there are so many re-occurences of the same byte value... thousands.

Give more info on what you are trying to do and on what...

Scroll down till you find one with a (1)

don't pick the ones with a (4)

Then that most likely means that the .exe or the module the code is in is encrypted or packed

Why not take the address you found for the assembly your trying to patch and look at it in olly or what ever debugger you use.

Plus i would look at this file in PEiD and see about it being packed like DB says, or if it is just using a wrapper.

So your trying to bypass a loader...
Also how about filling us in on what game your working on?

thx all!! resolved!!

exe is not encrypted or have not any other anti cheat or binary protection.
i check for other code and its work good now.
this is a modification of farcry game but have a new exe file and the new exe file is stand alone and dont need to original farcry.exe file.
also farcry load script for menu and .... so i think some of the codes are from scrips and hevent any compiled data on hard disk. scrips is only text.
