I've never heard of them just giving away the home edition... usually business.
I got a copy a while ago from some survey thing they did...
then 2 more from student promotions... and visual studio... and windows server...

Stay with XP, a lot of people are saying Vista is buggy and useless.

My GFX Is the same thing,Its an XFX right? Its fine with Vista,Alogn with DX10. If you have 2 gigs of ram+ I recomend downgrading to vista,Its pretty sweet.

I say stay with XP I dun like Vista it's just a slow show off pc and unless you have a pretty good amount of RAM DX10 is going to slow you down a bit....

Downgrading? It's not the matter of RAM only, you will need a good strong processor too

Vista is a much stronger OS compared to XP, but yes, it's not suitable for slow computers and DX10 does slow you down by a bit.

Resource using? Yes. Stronger? No. Yes, Vista looks good, but that's about it. DX10 is far slower than DX9 (though that may just be because of the games, not DX10 itself). Vista uses at least twice the RAM of XP, leaving much more for other programs; Vista is more taxing on the video card; Vista is more taxing on the CPU; I could go on and on. I'll admit, Vista, at release, was much better than XP, at release, but, with SP2, XP is still a lot better.
Maybe I'll think Vista is the better operating system after a few service packs are released, but, at the time being, XP is, still, the better operating system.
To the thread starter: don't use Vista, yet. Wait until a few service packs are released. Vista uses too much resources and isn't as stable as XP, for the time being.
