recently i was bothered by the same question when i was about to start learning programming but i ended up on C++.

It isn't a lot harder to learn.. But it is more fun to learn than Delphi and I bet if you do C++ first you will find Delphi extremely easy to pick up if you decide to learn it aswell.

im not pretty sure, but i have asked many programmers in rl about delphi, and they say its old and that C++ is better. Also if you ever go to the library you will notice nearly none delphi books and a lot of C, C# and C++ books, i donno it could mean something 
edit: i dont think its obsolete, but many ppl have told me it is :/, anyways i like delphi cuz its easier

It's not obsolete, C++ is old but yes it's better.

You can't just call somebody a fag because they used a certain programming language.
Every language has it's pros and cons.
But noz3001 is right starting with C++ and then moving to delphi is like starting on an accoustic guitar and then finding the electric very easy.
I say they're both good

Delphi is considered as the King of Win32, but i don't know how long it'll last. i doubt the future of delphi.
