I thought the higher the GFX the better (Example 8800 is suppose to be beaten by the 9000's but it seems that the 9000's suck like poop)... i know all the statistics... but it makes no sense... they are equally matched... whats the difference from 8000s (around 8800+) and the 9000's....

9600GT is not a high-end card.
It is a lower-midrange card.

The 8800GT is a mid-high-end card.

Just because it is newer does not mean it will absolutely rape all that stand before it...

in case of the 9600, the 9 shows that it's the 9th nvidia geforce serie, the 6 shows that it's the 6 model, which is midrange.

the 9600 is about a good as the 8800gt, but the 9800 will kick the shit out of the 8800 when it comes out.

x400GT= Lowest class
x500GT= Lower-middle class
x600GT= Middle class
x600GTS= Upper-middle class
x800GT= Lower-upper class
x800GS= Middle-upper class
x800GTS= Upper-upper class
x800GTX= Highest class

For instance, an 8800GT is still gonna be a bit more powerful than 9600GT, because an x600GT is a middle class card, where as an x800GT is an upper-class card.
