Whenever i start up my computer my wallpaper shows and my icons and start menu and other processes dont start up for another 5 minutes. also my internet connections get stuck on "verifying network address". any help or suggestions? by the way sorry for my grammar mistakes and such, im writing this on my phone.

Just your system starting up... It's called patience.

Sounds like you have a lot of start-up programs, and a crappy hard drive, maybe 5400 RPM HDD.

me explain it a little more Smile

It seems you have a lot of programs running at the beginning. Easiest way to fix this is go to
Start>Run...>msconfig>OK>Startup>
Uncheck the ones that are NOT essential to running windows. That is assuming you are running Windows. But if you can, buy Ram. It should help.

And changing what starts up really helps. On my old desktop it used to take Windows about 5 minutes to fully load up, after changing the msconfig, it took about 3 minutes.

(Very old desktop that I had put way too much crap onto it...)
