well for playstation games or ps1 games as opposed to ps2 games you probably need to use the 2 byte search instead of the standard 4 byte search ,

if you use the epsxe emulator you can get a plugin called pec, and other plugins like petes plugins for instance,

the pec plugin is a simple cheat finder specially made for epsxe, the advantage is you can put original playstation codes in that you can find on the web,,,

lots of emulators here

Arrow http://www.ngemu.com/psx/epsxe.php

you can download pec here

Arrow http://www.emucheater.com/download.php

the pec cheater handles the emulated code as 16 bit sony crap language so you can enter playtation code in its original form from any old cheat magazines you got or from sites like datel action replay codes that will save a bit of searching then, theres a faq on how to use it at that pec link,

you can use cheat engine on it but remember you will have to use 32 bit x86 language and will not be able to see the ps1 code in its original form,
one good thing though is there is hardly any dma code in the ps1 games so once you got an address it tends to stay the same from what I remember,

here's a link to loads of gameshark codes for final fantasy 9 ( gameshark codes are the same as action replay codes for all intents and purposes )

now how good is that for an answer Wink

Very good.

FF9, gross, has to be the worst FF.

I like 7 and 8 the most.
