Hello I am thinking of making my own game like maplestory or rumble fighter that has 2d graphics and characters would be anime looking can anyone point me to some programs I could do this with.

The language you would code the game in would be C/C++

Then the game engine would be coded in either DirectX or OpenGL.

Theres tons of communities bound on game developement that you can check out as well, such as www.gamedev.net

Anything else, just hit up google with some basic searching and you should find basically anything you need.
