Just use CreateThread();

A thread?

Why not just

Code:

'Somewhere in your code
Dim Count as integer;
Dim mytimer as System.Windows.Forms.Timer = new Timer()
mytimer.Name = "timer" + Count.ToString()
mytimer.Interval = 2000 'Milliseconds
mytimer.Tick += new EventHandler(mysub)

'Somewhere else

private sub mysub as void 'I'm not quite sure if this works, because I do C#, but whatever

MessageBox.Show('Hello!');

endsub

As I said in the code, I do C#, but I'm guessing since it's .Net, that it's similar.

Because a separate thread is better so it doesn't halt your main program execution. In the case with the timer, the program(main thread) has to process the message from the timer.
