It was a satire: "If your son plays Quake, he is a hacker. Quake is an underground hacking community."

Heres a link to a few free Distro ISO downloads:

http://www.linuxlookup.com/linux_iso

I have personally used Debian, Red Hat, and Knoppix. If you are looking for a quick tool to have fun with and such, I suggest going with Knoppix as it is a 'live' OS that will run on a CD and does not have to be installed to work. You can hdd install it if you wish, but the better part is you can take it with you and use it anywhere.

That would explain his other article about college. Shocked That one was seriously funny.

Linux is illegal in most countries, I'd advise against it.

I have ubuntu, you can download at www.ubuntu.com
The file is .iso so you will have to open it with nero and burn a cd. Then Go to the bios menu and change the 1rst boot device to your CD reader, save.
Put the disk into the reader, reboot.
Follow the steps (it will take some time), then when you finish go again to the bios menu and change the 1rst boot device to your hard drive. Take out the disk and reboot, if you have a partitioned hard drive you can have both windows and linux (I did so Razz), in that case you will have to choose the OS you will use at the startup.
Hope it helps you, Linux is the best OS and it IS NOT illegal.
