|
|
Is an AA computer science, with classes focusing on C++ going to give me enough knowledge or should I take additional classes? The classes I'll be taking are:
Database Systems 1
PC Hardware 1
Networks 2
C++1 & 2
Data Structures in C++
Visual C++1 and here's where my first decision comes in. Do I take Visual C++2 or Database Design?
Other classes are just crappy requirements such as math and all that. So will these be enough and should I stick with Visual C++2 or go for Database Design?
Thanks for any help.

| You can always learn more about C++.. Ask your school if you can get hired based on what you know and being the best student in class and they will give you the most likely to be true answer.

| What do you want to do? Thats kinda the main question you need to ask yourself. Database Design is probably going to focus on what it says, the design of a database. Probably not something thats going to teach you C/C++ much, if at all. I'd go with Visual C++ 2, but it's your choice. Look into what the course offers before making your pick though.

| Mainly I just want to become a programmer. As to a former question, I'll be starting college sooo 13th grade I guess. Haven't taken any classes before though. Thanks for the info Wiccaan. That's what I was looking for. I figured Visual C++2 but I wasn't completely sure.

| lol I am taking it. My question was is that enough or should I get an extended education and weather to go database or stick with Visual C++2. I was already leaning toward VC2 but wasn't sure.
