I was just wondering if you have to know a lot to make a bot for a game. Like MS... Say my dad was a programmer(He's no way near one, or good with computers) would he have to know a lot about the game to make a simple bot? Like to Auto Pot and stuff

You gotta hack some before you make a (good) bot, and maple's process is hidden so try making a bot for something else first...

Err.. if it's just autopotter, those are really easy to make.
lot's of autopotters i've seen are written in autoit, using pixeldetection, wich is a real workaround. it's really easy to write an application to just read out values from memory with Health/Mana, and when it gets too low, to send a keystroke to the game Rolling Eyes

However, bots that go around attacking monsters, using skills, or even going back to town and all the jazz are much harder to make.
the most simple ones are pixelsearch bots that select monsters based on color (usually you need to do stuff to change monster textures) and just attack monsters/heal
the more advanced ones are much more advanced, and you need to be a pretty good programmer (preferrably in some language like C/C++)

and i assume people want a bot for MS when they come in GP outta nowhere saying how to make a bot and what they need to know to make one.
