Cheat Engine

Well, I used the cheat engine to meddle with my money in-game. I found my carat value and changed it, but when I try to buy something that is the appropriate price, it says "Buying failed".

Now I'm pretty sure that just by telling you that you'd say "It's because the buying and selling is server-sided", and maybe that is the case. I was just curious to know if this could work because normally when you try to buy an item that is more carats than you have, it says "You don't have enough carats". Here I can get to the very end of the buying process before I get "Buying failed", which is a different message.
