Ok, whats the diff between CE and OllyDBG?

Secondly, why is it i find a value, an address for example, and see what writes to it, and i find that the "pointer" or w/e it is, writes to the same address... Ex; Address 0045BE89, and when u see wut writes to it, it says: 0045BE89, what the hell??

OllyDbg is a debugger.
Cheat Engine is a memory editor.

Because it points to that address.
That's why it is called a pointer.
I explained to you already how it always points at that address.
So you should see why it does that.

So does a debugger have more power? And no one told me what happens if an address points to itself...

They are two different things...
And I don't think you understand what I said.
Confused

Okay.
Let us say this is the address : Hello
But when I go back into the program Hello is now Goodbye.
So I will have to look for my new address [Goodbye].
To stop this from happening each time I open my program, I find a pointer.
The pointer will keep showing me to that address no matter what it is.
But sometimes your pointer is not static.
Which means it, like your address, changes.
So you need to find what points to this pointer [so that you don't have to keep looking for the pointer].
So you do not always need to find a pointer for your pointer.
Just if the pointer changes.

"The pointer will keep showing me too, that address no matter what it is" but sometimes bla bla bla, there is no "so if thats the matter, you need to: Explanation" so... basically, no one said yet how to find the address that points to itself... Even after a restart of the game, it stays the same...

CE is a memory scanner, with a debugger.

Ollydbg is a debugger.

There is nothing more to explain until you know the meanings.
memory scanner
debugger
disassembler

So why cant i just get a straight answer like: "No you cant find a pointer of an address that points to itself" why cant u ppl say that, its all i need... you dont have to make puzzles and have me "follow" them to the end...

*im not being pushy or rude, im just sayin why cant sum1 say that >.> i hate clues and i know what a debugger is, and i know what a disassembler is... its just i never used OllyDBG and i dont know much about it

The main reason is because you dont know what you want for an answer.
We have given no riddles or hidden text.

Learn what the hell the tools are and how to use them, your question is frustrating to us.

How hard is it to give me an answer to my question? let me say it again...

"I have an address that when i try and "find what writes to this address", i get a pointer, and when i look at what it points to, it shows the address that i found earlier, which i said about 3 lines up"

I dont see what so puzzling about my question, an address, a pointer that IS the address, means it doesnt need a pointer, i dont fking get it...

You ever thought you have the address you need already?

People come in here all the time asking for something, and it isnt what they need or looking for when they ask. It ends up being something totally different. Your question suggests you dont know how to use the tool or what your looking for.
Of course it is going to point to the address, you are looking at what reads, writes to it.

Reasons for no replies could be as the following:
1. They dont know, so they dont know how or what to ask.
2. They dont know how to use the tools.
3. They ask the wrong questions.
4. They are unclear on whats going on or what they are trying to do.
5. It is usually right under their nose.
6. They get pissed off when no-one understands the question or they dont get the answer they think they need.
7. They dont give out enough information on the situation.
8. They post about hacking a game and wont give out the name of it.
9. CEF members do not give out information unless the questioner gives out information.
10. All of the above should be an answer to why you have not gotten your answer. "Guide Lines for asking questions have been posted for a while now." http://forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=91805

This might seem harsh but , i wrote these to aid people like you in getting help.
When you see whats write to and address it is going to point to that address.
