Up to now all ive been doing in c++ is console applications because it seemed like the best way to learn the basics of c++. Now I want to start learning visual c++ and windows applications. I was wondering if express edition was the best compiler to use (up to now ive been using dev-c++). Also from what ive learned so far about visual c++ is that has a lot of new syntax and is nothing like the console applications i have been making so far. Am i going to pretty much learn a new language? Anyway thanks in advanced for the advice. Also if anyone would recommend some Tuts that would be great. and yes i did check stickies.

"visual c++" is the name of Microsoft's c/c++ compiler, it is not "visual" in the sense that it allows you to visually build GUI programs.

no there is no "new" syntax.
