Being kicked out of your school despite having no disciplinary violations, perfect attendance/grades, all because the health insurance provider wants to kick you off the program because the treatment for your illness is costing too much |
rip u |
Ya and then I get stigmatized because people think I got kicked out for drugs
which made me legitimately start doing drugs lol

the reasons go on and on. you should know this. |
The only reason a company let's you go is if you become a liability instead of an asset. If you devote your energy in becoming an asset and making money for the company you work for. You will not get fired. It makes no sense to fire you. And the only way you can become an asset to your company is if you 1. Love what you do 2. Love the company you work for 3. Be really good at what you do (circulates back to #1) |
That sounds nice and all, but people who love their jobs and work hard get fired all the time. |
I think I forgot to mention that you gotta make the company money. If you don't make the company money and it cost them to keep you. They're gonna fire you.
Edit: bc some people here don't have critical thinking as their attribute let me explain
The only way you get to be good at what you do (meaning you're the best at your job) is to love what you do. If you hate what you do. You won't put in the extra work to keep learning and be creative. Being the best at what you do means you can use that skill to make money. Either for yourself or for the company. If you love the company you work for. You'll be imaginative and work longer hours and find creative ways to increase revenue for your company. Doing this will make the company money and make you an invaluable employee. If you are an invaluable employee they won't fire you because as a business owner that would be fucking stupid. They will only fire those who are not valuable to them. Hence a liability. Indianguy. Please don't insult me because the highest you've worked at is a sushi cook. So idk why you're saying I'm uneducated in this matter. |
I'm sure you've taken a lot of theoretical economic classes, but that's what they are, theory. In practice, hiring decisions are made differently, and since I don't have much experience other than a few internships, I'll let averageazn explain this. | as someone whos done a bit of recruiting, its pretty much this.
| Code: | If gpa < 3.0
reject
if person has no out sides of skool projects
reject
if person only knows C
reject
if person is someone who you wouldn't want to share a beer with
reject
if person is awkward
reject |

I dropped out of college after 1 semester. And I'm talking about firing/laying off people not hiring.

Haven't used any of the shit my college taught me except that copying and pasting is alot easier with two monitors. The most important thing I got out of skool was networking. You never know who will give you your next job.

I am smart (enough) to know that work is different than what school teaches you. I had a couple internships under my belt as I explained before. But I delegated the task of explaining to you since you have more experience, at least acknowledge that. In the interviews, I suppose the basic data structures course will set the foundation for that, but like you said, I can't let my GPA drop below 3 and that leaves very little time to practice technical interviews. Surely I wouldn't get these internships at financial services firms if I was socially inadept. You can call me retarded, but I'm doing mighty fine given the conditions I have to play ball with.
