Technically, you're standard ethernet (cat 5e spec) will support up to 1Gbit provided the PC's and network gear will handle it. But I think he might actually be on a 100Mb internet line... I know they defo have it in Japan quite commonplace Smile

Its crap near where I live, as there is no LLU-operator presence or cable, so there goes anything higher than 8Mb for the broadband. The line distance to my telephone exchange is very short, and its a high-quality run with little noise, so all we need is a little upgrading around here and we'd be flying

I live 4km from my exchange and i still get speeds that are pretty good. Anyway, my ISP has been lagging lately.
