Well if you're looping through a thousand of something, 20 milliseconds of speed faster will shave 20 seconds off of the total time.

I really rather Delphi than C++.
VB, is easy, fast and simple.
Delphi HAVE a very similar sintaxis like VB and a bit of C++/Java (The ";" at last).
C++, seen to be good at memory stuffs, but.. for GUI sux balls. You need be more advanced to make one of you own, instead of just having one like Delphi/VB/Java. (If you wants a hard language then use BrainFuck)
Java, is'nt good for Memory Edit, which seen to be the main point of programming in the users in this forum, then Java for theys is "Sux balls" even is one of the best payed.
Overall.. get you own way, and select w.e language you feel better using, the most of theys does the same, if you're going to use language for memory edit, then go with C++, if it's for a single program, i recommend more POO Friendly language, such like Delphi.

i can tell English isn't your native tongue.
OOP (which is what i think he means by POO) has nothing to do with GUIs. it has to do with classes. other than that...well i cant understand it.
