There is a difference, Hacking games is knowledge and harmless depending on how far you take it.
Intrusion is a whole different side and i left the dark side years ago.
It can land you in trouble, and i have too much to lose now.
So the best way to feed an appetite is harmless hacking.
Plus i could not do much of anything now since the tools/methods are well out dated and OS has changed.

OMG, what the hell do you mean by 'hack us'...? I think Dark Byte is a good man that he released his Cheat Engine, and because his so cute and nice, he released his CE Source, too.
And about the story you heard... it's not true at all...

Cheat Engine is an open source project. If you have concerns, read the code and compile your own binary. If you're wondering if there is some unworldly power preventing people from exercising their free will and knowledge -- well then, no. However, nothing is preventing you from doing the same. There's software to dissect packets, monitor ports, trace processes, etc.
And to pick a peeve.... Knowledge is amoral and incorporeal. There are legal ways to attack a computer, crash a server, crack software, and so forth. Anyone with aspiration of becoming a database administrator should know how to conduct a SQL Injection.
The site's administrators understandably want to limit liability, however, it's insulting to conclude everyone is weak willed and stupid. The internet is propagated by the idea that the dissemination of information will benefit humanity (well, and that people like porn).

It is fun to try to hack yourself using vmware virtual networks. Its harmless, but gives you knowledge.

i can just dream about hacking some web site or making programs in VB..
im learning VB right now i have token this language as the "first one",
but i feal like i will never know like you guys, cause i have no luck at all and all what im trying make it good for me is protected lol...
