DS is cheaper and many fun titles such as Adv wars, castven, runefactory, mario cart, and many others that are easliy accessed with a R4 mod.

It's pretty hard to choose the better for me, as I have both; DS with an R4, PSP with custom firmware.
I use my PSP considerably more often though.

DS, you can buy a R4DS 
ds has two screens, psp has one, ds can be used by a 3 year old so it is less complicated, it also has more interface.
DS is the shit, even though i have a psp....

If i had to chose for fun factor and sheer simplicity it would have to be the DS.
But if your a gamer looking for challenging games the its the PSP for you.
I like it because of the more function it has like playing films on it.

Oh yh forgot to mention about the graphics and the music..........I think you can play films on the R4 for the DS.
