Really, it depends on how much you use a character, and how much you get used to them. I have a friend who can beat anybody with Captain Falcon.
Anyways, for a good head start, use Ike, as recommended before me.

Obviously, Snake and Meta Knight are the most fucking overpowered characters.
Meta Knight with his no lag attacks.
And Snake with Knee Spamming, WaveDashingSmashUp and the Zohan Kick which is A+Up Tilt, it has most priority over attacks.

This is totally not true.. some characters rly rly suck...
most of u had said that Ike is the best... could you tell me more on his skills and controls then? And Kirby/Marth... The controller i have is the wii remote the one with the "1 and 2 buttons and B for block.."

Every character can beat every character, given the right player. There is however "strongest" characters, but they only do the most damage, whilst lacking speed.
Which is why I love Fox, fair amount of damage, ridiculous speed. I've played as him since SSB on the N64 anyway. <3

well i like pikachu and i almost can own every player with it. Well most of the time i use pikachu i win because the ppl i vs is a noob. And pikachu does not have a far ranged attack =[ Can ppl tell me the controls for a pikachu?

The top rated character is meta knight if you wanna be technicall on a tires listing.
I use kirby because of his rock defense. The rock can withstand alot of attacks from bosses and such. If all else fails, homebrew + gecko os SD card cheats xD

are there any hacks for Super Mario Bros Brawl on a Wii? I have an SD card, Sony card, USB (U3) memory stick 8gb... i can store it there and plug it on the wii. Can anyone tell me if there are any hacks and where to get them?
