No. If you want big arms, you do 3 sets of 5 reps of the heaviest weight you can handle.

If you can do 100 reps of something, it's obviously not heavy enough to be stressing the muscle.

Same goes for push-ups, if you can do 100 of them, you should be doing one-armed ones instead.

from personal experience doing that makes your not be able to work out the next day cause your bodys too soar so i wouldnt recommend that i did that for a few months years ago, didnt notice any diffrence but when after i started doing the set i suggjested youl get tons of improvement
thats the whole point. you arent suppose to work out EVERY day. to gain bulk you do low reps and high weight. you have to rest 48 hours before you do it again

I have heard(I have read Razz) that you should work out 3-4 days, and then rest 2-3 days? :/ That is what I usually do. I got fine six pack abs for an 15 year old boy, in my opinion though, and I have done that for a long time. And I have made major progress..

Do different ab excercises, don't do the same one all the time. If you want to lose body fat: Do cardio, and change your lifestyle.

Going on a diet is just temporarely. :/ So you have to change your lifestyle if you want it to last.

But since you do have 4 pack abs, I suggest that you would just variate from your normal ab excersices. ;P Try googling/youtube it up. Smile

That is not the way to gain bullk. After working out, it takes 48 hours for your muscle fibers to heal. Obviously you haven't talked to a body builder.

If you aren't sore after working out, you aren't accomplishing anything.

You shouldn't need to be working out the next day because you're only supposed to work any specific muscle group 2-3 times a week.

Had you stuck with a proper exercise program, you would have noticed a lot more improvement.

I agree. LOL BUT IF YOU WANT TO GO WORK OUT EVERYDAY ENJOY FUCKING UP YOUR MUSCLES.

When you lift weights you are basically tearing the muscle so they can get bigger. They need time to heal. Don't work out everyday. Also, if you do. Don't work out the same muscle group.
Add alot of protein into your diet. It helps muscle heal faster.

I used to work out everyday (I started school again and i don't have time for it). I'd do diffrent muscle groups though.

Mondays I'd do arms only. Tuesdays- Legs Wednesdays - chest etc. I never did the same muscle group twice. I also kept changing it up. You should keep changing the intensity etc your body will get used to the same work out routine and you won't see any changes. Razz

Higher reps with lower weights works better than higher weights with lower reps

also: 5 reps? no thanks Rolling Eyes

Get a blow up ball, I've seen it in a commercial saying it helps build abs because your not just going forwards, you can go backwards. Lol. Idk just watch for it on TV.

But what I do is stretch all parts of my body, then sit ups off of my couch, as much as I can before my abs start giving way, then pop down and do as many push ups as I can until I can't anymore, then Lift at 15lb dumbell as much as I can for each arm. After that Then more stretching, and then back to working out. Each time you'll do lesser and lesser amount of situps, pushups, and weight lifting, but when you can't do anymore is when you could stop. I do it every other other day, ex: workout day, not workout day, not workout day, workout day. Pretty much 3 times a week is the minimum amount(from what I heard from my strength training classes) for building muscle. This helps me stay more Built, and not so much Bulk.

When you're working out, you're essentially damaging your muscles. That's why it's suggested to wait 2 days (or at least 1) between working out the same muscle group, because they're being repaired/rebuilt. If you don't give them sufficient time, then it's not good for your muscles, nor will you be benefiting as much.

Well, you can't gauge how effective a workout is by how sore you are. You won't always be sore after a workout, or the day after.

I'm not really sure how to gauge how much is too much. Of course there's the obvious, if you ever experience pain that isn't just 'soreness' then it's probably too much XD. You should probably find a workout routine and use that as a guide of how much you should workout.
