For ebay, the only tip I can think of is this,
check other online places with that item to ensure that the price isnt a rip off.
That actually saved me about 20 bucks on a product because i checked other places before using ebay. _________________

It is.
Lost 150€ once (200.38$).
I wanted to buy a new cam and it was 1 day after christmas. The seller had almost only positive feedbacks, so I bought one from him.
Waited...waited..waited..but it never came. Tried to mail/phone the fucker but without any result. Then I checked his feedback again and suddenly there were like 100 new feedbacks, negative feedbacks.
I didn't report it to ebay because then they'd have probably found out I'm not 18 yet xD. Didn't buy anything from there since this happened anymore.
Tips:
- Make sure the seller has alot of positive feedbacks (of course)
- Check their negative feedbacks and why they got them
- Do cash on delivery even though it's more expensive then (at least in Germany)
- Make sure it has something like guarantee
If you take heed on these tips, you should be safe from buying stuff in ebay.
Another tip:
Check if the article is avaible at amazon.com, it's much safer, better and sometimes even cheaper.
