Ill fucking explain Newton for you.
If you throw something on earth, you throw it with a specific Newton. But there are thwarting Newton forces. These forces make objects fall down or stay still. Example of these forces are gravity, wind, etc. On earth the bullet will fall down after some time, gravity makes it go slower, untill it falls down, and the forwardpushing forces are equally strong as the thwarting forces. This makes the object remain still. In space, there are no thwarting forces.
Conclusion: In space the bullet will go on forever, untill it reaches a point where there are thwarting forces.
Next to that, There is no oxygen in space, and fire needs oxygen to burn. That will make the gun unable to shoot

| The gun will shoot. In modern firearms, there's a reserve of oxygen inside the bullet that ignites it, it doesn't use outside air. It will fly along until gravity eventually pulls it into something.

No really... it would start to lose speed and eventually fall back to the earth. |
Not to flame you, but your name sort of explains you.
It would not fall back to earth... Unless he was aiming at the earth itself.
It is sort of like shooting a gun under water... How would you spark it?
From what i just read, if you could fire it (keyword fire... in space... false) it would move until it hits something. |
Admitting you are retarded is far more grand then using a dictionary and wikipedia to make a post.

(Yes, theres a possibility that oxygen is present in the barrel of the gun.) |
When a bullet is fired, the chemical reaction in the gun powder creates oxygen.
To everyone else saying that it won't fire because there is no oxygen in space: it will fire. The bullet will fly on and on, until it is attracted to a body with enough gravity.

if you shoot, it will not go that far. It will fall back to earth and become a small flaming meteor which wont even hit the ground.

| Eh, I think OP means that the gun is fired from space -> space, not from earth -> the direction of space.

THe bullet would start to loose speed and velocity (depending on its range)
and it would start to come down and it would just land on the ground.
Simple as that.

if fired from space, it woudl continue on until it reaches an object with enough gravitational pull to pull it to that planet and hit it i think...

The bullet WOULD NOT FIRE because there is no oxygen. |
Oxygen is not involved with this though. -.-

Well first off, you aren't retarded your just stupid. Considering you mean "admitting you are stupid is far more grand than using a dictionary" is a very very stupid statement. I mean, did you think about that before you typed it? using a dictionary or wikipedia to explain something, teaches you and other people something that could be useful.
And, with a modern firearm, as someone else said, it would fire and you would fly backwards and probably you wouldn't get stopped. Then you would get sucked into gravity and the astronaughts that told you "don't fire that gun in space" will be laughing their asses off when you get pulled into a planet at very high speeds. (you would probably end up dead) don't worry hitting the planet won't hurt you would probably burn up on re-entry.

Simple as that. | space has no gravity retard.
