Let me reiterate what I tried to ask: What is a layer? (context: hair)

Hair layers are basically the opposite of a blunt cut. Instead of cutting the hair so that all the ends fall to the same place (a "blunt" cut), the hair is cut so that the ends are different lengths.
It helps for people with very thick, curly hair... when they grow it long, it will be very puffy. When you layer hair, you are essentially cutting out some of the volume so that it is not so puffy.
Safko's hair appears to be very layered and texturized

This is EXACTLY what I wanted to do also.
If one of you guys could tell me how make my hair have layers, that would be awesome.

Well, it's as if my hair is sticking to my scalp, if you know what I mean, so I'd like to make it look like it has some bouce (sorry, not good with beauty jargon).
What's a good product to use, if any, and how would I style?
edit: OH, and also my hair gets disfigured so easily; for example if a soft wind would blow, my hair would relent so easily and change (it doesn't go back to its original state).

Oh if you're going to use gel like me,get the one's that is around 13+. Like a super mega hold. Go try to spike up your hair a bit and see what you get.

| I suggest you grow it, then cut the back and sides shortish leave your fringe, then dye it some cool color. and put some styling wax in and spike it up a bit.

Fuck sake.
If you want layers go to a salon ask for a good layered and textured hair cut. Then when they style it look at how they style it, ask what products they use and do the same at home.
It isn't rocket science.
