I have two 30gb zunes, and they are fine. Video is clear, sound is fine, and best of all, I got them for free.

Despite people bashing iPods they are brilliant nowadays, their batteries last throughout the day (and longer, my iTouch has been running for 4 days now) which is good enough as long as you have a plug socket at home, which I am presuming most of you do. They are very user simple and easy to configure, volume limits can be broken easily as well (for those in the EU). They are designed to be carried like an mp3 player should be, rounded edges, small, thin, headphones not being cramped or bent badly.

Regarding quality of video, is that seriously something you really care about? I got an 80gb iPod Video and the clarity was brilliant, however I must have watched about 3 movies in total on it because it's just not what it should be used for. Yes blah blah "but you bought an iPod Video", I actually just bought the new generation of normal high-capacity iPod that just happened to have been developed to include video. Thus t was marketed as an iPod Video. Not an iPod that was made to specialise in videos, but just showing off it's latest media-playing capabilities. It is like buying a PS3 solely for the bluray player. There are other better BluRay players on the market but the fact is you wanted a games console. You're never going to be watching the entire Star Wars set on a screen that small.

I don't know anything about Zunes but I know enough about iPods having had a Mini, Nano, Video and Touch.

Considering Zune just came out a few days ago, it won't have a lot of publicity just yet. Its video quality supersedes the iPod's at least 5 fold, so the Zune is better.

Zune.

The Zune has a larger screen that’s better for movies. The Zune screen has a horizontal display mode for viewing movies in a wide aspect ratio. The Zune will play movies… or any video at all. The Zune will do most everything else the iPod does at the same price. Wireless features on the Zune provide a compelling new feature. Available in Brown. Zune is sexier.

Zune is better because iPod is a piece of shit. I bought an 80 gig for 250$ and it was raining hard as fuck and it was in my pocket and it broke and apple is trying to charge me 180$ to fix it. I did the same with Zune except it didn't fucking break. ZUNE > IPOD
