As far as our TRUE knowledge takes us... There is no afterlife. Though, since we cannot see what happens moments after death, we cannot know...
I have spoken to someone who had legally DIED for a minute or something... and it was just a black out.
In biblical sense, you probably believe in live after death.
With the facts we have now, you do not live after death.

What is TRUE knowledge?

It is. After death, your brain STOPS functioning. Your brain is what makes you have the ability to even fathom the idea of another life... So if you are dead (no functioning brain), you cannot even think of the idea of an afterlife... Let alone have one exist.

I believe ther is a afterlife simply because the Bible says so.
But you can't prove it, neither that there is NO afterlife.
When your dead your soul leaves your body, I believe that the soul goes to Heaven or Hell, and 'live' on there.
No body or nothing around it...

EDIT:: thought came through my head:
In the Netherlands a man wrote a book called: "Moderne wetenschap in de Bijbel" which means: "Modern science in the Bible"
That book tells us that the habbits described in the Bible are the most healthy of that time... (God gave them to the Jewish people)
For example: They weren't allowed to eat unsober (dunno what it's called) meat IE Pig.
In that time that kind of meat was very dangerous to eat because it had many diseases...

Can you prove there is a soul in your body? Where is it located? How have we not found it yet?
Your brain controls your thoughts and how you process things. YOUR BRAIN IS DONE WHEN YOU ARE DEAD. So how do you process and think... Which i believe you would need to do in another afterlife.

When i said true, i meant factual knowledge. Not knowledge from "god".
Also, it was not a near death experience. Being dead and having no pulse lying on a table is being dead...
