i installed the nvidia driver (was using the generic windows 1)
and now in games it looks like this. why?

always be sure to install the RIGHT graphics card for your computer.
install driver detector to see what proper drivers need to be installed

it was the one that the nvidia website scanner told me to use...

try some other games too see if it's game or your drivers

i'd try uninstalling the drivers and then manually searching for the latest drivers for your graphics card.

completely wipe all your drivers.

reinstall latest.

If any other games work, then you messed up your settings for Counter-Strike. If so, just go into your cstrike folder, backup config.cfg, and delete it. See if it works after that, if it doesn't just move your backup back in.

its the driver.
how do i wipe 1 driver?

right click my computer -> manage

and then in computer management, click on system tools and then device manager.

expand display adapters, right click your graphics card and click uninstall.

go start -> run, and type dxdiag. click the display tab and tell us the name of your graphics card, or take a screenshot of the screen and i'll find the drivers you need.

nvidia geforce 4 mx integrated gpu
i also need sound drivers
my sound card is:
nvidia nfoce audio
and now its running in like 400x600 pixels and is saying i need a video controller but it cant find the one i was originally using...
