I cannot use "unknown initial value", so it is not a solution to just use that and then change a value and search for it as a percentage or spending a month doing "increased/decreased" value.
I'm basically looking for values in a game and they are never as they are displayed in the game, and no it's not a flash game. I've tried every freaking data type on cheat engine a not a sinlge one of them ever can get a fix on ANY values in the game. So can games "hide" the values somehow?? It's an .atm file btw, not sure that matters though. Cheat engine will attach to it and it will correctly alter the games speed, so it's "cheatable". Heh.

Packed files = hidde.
Also, you might try unpackers if there is one for your game you are playing, use PEiD to get ahold of what type of packer was being used to pack it.
(I'm not sure I got your question right, but you will succeed with using "unknown" searches, because that is how you get addresses containing values not shown onscreen, you could also search through the memory at a suspicious range.)
Good luck.

| Packed? What? I'm completely lost at what you are talking about. I explained my situation, I thought. The game runs as an .atm file. I can find none of the values that the client displays while playing the game. They don't exist. Nowhere.

Run the game executable with PEiD, and you'll see what I mean with packed.
There is probably a ready-to-use unpacker for it if it's somewhat famous and shitty, otherwise you'd have a hard time I'm afraid.
This is -my- only way to guess why you can't get any addresses, unless you did some general wrong stuff with CE.

How am I supposed to run it with peid? I load it up in "file" and then what? It just says a bunch of crap I have no idea wtf is. Entry point, EP section, etc. How is this supposed to help???

It says what it's packed with in the bottom, you may think it's the creator of the program, i got confused with it the first time i used it as well, just tell me what it says when you've loaded it and PEiD'ed it, and I'll try my best to help you.

Load it and Peid it? I did that all as one thing. Now you are confusing the hell out of me. I Don't run it. When I run the game it changes to an ATM file, and this thing will not detect/show an .atm file. So all i have done is load the .exe that starts the atm file, I have done so in the "file" spot listed in peid". And it says C++,which is probably not what you want.
Well, looks like I can load it using "all files". The .atm says it's C++ (debug)

Did you scan the file with PEiD?..

How EXACTLY do a "scan" a file. Scan, load, run, etc. All these terms can be the same exact thing. I am not telepathic. i explained to you what I did. I put the .exe in the "file" spot, and the bottom shows it's C++. I put the .atm file in the "file" spot and it says C++ (debug). Are these being "scanned". There is no "scan" button, only a directory scan, which shows niether of these files as targetable.

Nice mudkip. Anyway, can't they hide their values by using some formula on all of them? I'd like to know if I'm doing something wrong if not, because I'm fed up with this $##. Been messing around with it off and on for days, hours at a time. I can never get any of the values locked down.

Heh. |
Change the range of address's you are scanning to less than 400000.
And post the name of the got damn game.
