So...I want to make one...an extremely basic one. So how do I start? I want to just synchronize at an address, read a few instructions and figure out how many bytes those instructions are (I don't even need to know what the instructions are, just how big they are). So how do I know when an instruction ends and the next one starts? Is it just by the starting byte that you can tell how large the instruction is?

First find out what the instruction is. Then figure out the mod/rm and sib part if it has one and then you know how big it is
