a noob is a term for a person that is new to a game/forum/website or anything and/or dose not know much or anything about it.

Correct...originally. However, it has devolved. Newb was originally derived from the word Newbie, which meant someone who was new. Noob however, has devolved into an insult.

A newb (short for the word "Newbie") is someone that is new to something. Its not bad to be a newb. It just means you are new to something. Everyone was a newb at one point. 'Cept for me. If you are new to something on the internet, then you will probably be called a newb by the veterans. If you are called a noob, then direct them to an internet dictionary (Wikipedia will work) on the topic of newbs and noobs. They will be exposed as the noobs they are. Then proceed to laugh in thier face. When they retaliate, simply laugh once more and change servers.
In summary, Noob=bad Newb=not bad.

A "noob" means a stupid new person. "Newb" Which is short for "newbie"
which means a new person so it's better to be called a newbie then a noob

A newbie, is used in mostly Internet gaming culture. Its definition is to be new to something, mainly video games or an internet service. There are varient spellings, such as newb, n00b, noob, nub, and no0b, although noob is sometimes used as an other definition.
The term newb itself is usually used to refer to a person who is new to the field in question, whereas noob is used as an insult for unwanted subjects like spamming, asking questions repeatingly, and generaly pissing people off.
Also, "Noob" is used as a term of disdain for new or lower ranking player or used as a method of demeaning accomplished players who make 'stupid mistakes'.
