Hi, been at this about 2 hours of trying to follow tutorials and troubleshooting search results to no avail.
I'm trying to make my first simple cheat table. Editing the money value in a game. As stated I've watched a few tutorials on how to do so, and I believe I understand the process alright. The problem I'm running into is in following the steps to attain pointer addresses.
I can enter the initial value and scan for addresses just fine. But when I progress the game to change my gold total for a second value to search, nothing is coming up in the scan. Not with exact value, not with increased or decreased by value (using the amount the original total changed by). I do get a few results if I instead don't insert a new value but just scan by Value Increased/Decreased, but none of the new values of these results match the number I'm looking for at all.
At this point I'm unsure if I'm somehow doing something wrong, or if the game is just such spaghetti code that CE can't make heads or tails of what I'm looking for. Any help would be appreciated.
If you want to try it yourself to see if you get the same results, the game in question is the demo for Oaken Tower.
I'm running into the same problem trying to search for both the 55 starting gold, and the 45 starting income. Even progressing two or three turns forward thinking that was needed for the values to fully update did nothing.

Multiplayer games aren't allowed here.

Important values in multiplayer games are often stored on other computers. CE can only change the values on your computer.

Oaken Tower isn't multiplayer though? It pulls enemy profiles from recent matches (I think), as I consistently run into myself as an opponent from out to two runs ago.
But I guess if it's programed like that it would make sense why I can't pinpoint down the pointer values.

It's advertised as online pvp multiplayer all over the steam page...
Disconnect from the internet. If you can't play the game normally, give up.

Some games (especially Unity ones like Oaken Tower) store their values dynamically or encrypt them, so the visible “gold” value isn’t stored directly in memory. What you’re scanning might be just a display value or a calculated one, which is why the results don’t line up.
Try these steps:
Scan for unknown initial value instead of a number.
Then spend/earn gold and scan for increased or decreased value.
Repeat this process a few times — sometimes the real variable shows up after a few updates.
Also, try changing the value type to Float or Double if it’s not working as 4 bytes.
If that still fails, the game might be using obfuscation or XOR encryption, which means you’ll need to find the code that writes to the value instead of the raw address.
