I recently remembered about a game from my childhood about pirates and through many steps, finally found it. It is a stripped down version of a Port Royale 1 game, focusing on being a pirate. The game is currently an abandonware (archive.org/details/AscaronEntertainment_CollectionArchive-LivBs).

I tried to create a table for gold, crew morale and ship health, but got stuck on the first one... found the static address for the gold but when edited, it only shows the displayed gold, not the actual stored value. Could anyone help me with these? And explain how they did it?

Display values are derived from actual values. So you can use that to your advantage to find the value you're looking for by using "Find out what writes/accesses this address" on the intended address to see what is giving it its value and trace that back to the original value. Tracing isn't a process that is accessible to beginners however and it can be so complex depending on the situation.
