How do I cheat?

Hi I was wondering if I could get some help trying to find the value for a ps2 game called ratchet and clank, I load up and search my current amount of money then I add a little bit more so the value changes but I don't see any change in CE. Am I doing something wrong?

Some emulators use a file mapping. Edit -> Settings -> Scan Settings -> enable MEM_MAPPED

If that doesn't work, the emulator might use big endian values. Enable these in Edit -> Settings -> Extra Custom Types
