Hey I was having trouble finding anything about this topic. I have a game I want to speed up a process. The game left on read has a realistic mode which takes 50 hours to complete and I wanted to speed up that process. I think the macspeedhack is the closest cheat to what im trying to do but I dont know, if this is the one I also had trouble finding how to actual use it. I also saw that if you speed up something like a game character it could fry the cpu. I got a low end cpu, Pentium Silver. If I used any of these cheats would there be a chance it would completely ruin it? I got a laptop so If its screwed it is a lot more trouble. Thats pretty much all the questions I had

if the macspeedhack works, then you can use it. (it can be finicky at times, and depends on which game)

As for the cpu melting, that's theoretically not possible. CPU's will clock themself lower when they start to overheat, and since you're on a mac, your cpu is likely already clocking itself lower every day until it crawls so much that you have to buy a new mac anyhow

Sadly, it's true. Not the reason I would never buy a Mac though.

i can imagine what would happen if that was real, and someone is playing a racing game like for example need for speed, forza Very Happy Very Happy
as DB said, the cpu in general downclocks itself when its temperature goes up, if it reach the temp. limits, it will shutdown the pc right away.

Googled it and already found what I already know - they degraded iPhones' performances (and stopped after got caught and fined for it).
Nothing on Apple degrading Macs' performances tho.
