I think this may be possible, but how can I start?

I have tried changing stores such as a potion shop or an equipment shop

here is what I found:
- Values for number of items inside the shop
- numbers I do not understand but I think is related

I have been dissecting the data structures and I do not understand anything other than the number of items in the shop, I was wondering if:

1.) it is possible to find the ID's or values of items inside the shop? (such as ID of potion #1, potion #2 etc. or Item #1, Item #2 etc.)
2.) is there a way to see or find the values in a more easier manner?
3.) is there a way to know the ID's without trial and error?

Some problems (I think):
1.) I think Item ID's do not change within a store, they remain constant depending on the store, ex Potion shops items will always hold these specific IDs and Equipment store will hold the IDs for equipment so I think change value won't work with this, unless I find quantities? would that help me locate them?

what I want to happen is:
- Go in a store (potion or something that sells items cheap) then change the ID of the potion into the ID of an equipment or vanity item

this is just a practice so that I may learn more on how hacking works, I think this should also be a part of the tutorial
