getting the key of an encrypted value

Hello guys,Mr. Noob here.

So,for aoe 3,I got the gold,wood,food values and all are encrypted.There is no seperate display value and so the encrypted value is decrypted and passed to the display in the code somewhere.I just want to know if I know the display value from the game and I know the encrypted value then how to find the key?

Also how to use that key to set the encrypted value which will set the display value to a number that I want ?
