|
|
When I run cheat engine with a game and I use lua script with hotkeys mostly, the system interrupts take a lot of CPU.This happens only with cheat engine.
To check when a key is pressed or not,my game doesnot use a lot of cpu but for that same purpose cheat engine uses a lot of cpu,38-45% to be more specific. But when I return to the desktop with my game running in background(I dont play in windowed mode coz my game wont let me),and then after 10-12 seconds, everything comes back to normal.
Is there any way I can help my cpu remain calm?

how are the hotkeys implemented? Some people usebtheirbown inplementation using timers and isKeyPressed() which can be quite slow
Also, check that hyper-v and virtualization based security is disabled. Those can really be a big bottleneck on the system interrupt level especially for 'special' applications like CE

I use hotkeys with createHotkey() and in a script ,there are 4 hotkeys in my script.
I dont know about hyper-v and virtualization based security, windows says that its enabled by default,I will switch it off.
My pc is core i5 7 th gen,8 gig ram,do you think,my pc is below par and that is why I have to specifically turn off hyper v and virtualization?

the PC is fine, it's just that the virtualization based protection adds some overhead by running your computer inside a virtual machine.
When CE is accessing memory each time it triggers the protection, then windows has to check if everything is ok, copy part of one VM over to the other VM, verify everything again, and then send it to CE.
That can cause some delays
Or do you have stuff in settings->extra checked ?
