|
|
So I have been thinking about buying a laptop only because I could get a refurbished one from somewhere like Walmart with a price range of 90 - 150.
I have seen Windows 7 all the way to Windows 8.
I only want the Operating System, The laptop would be great for coding anywhere and everywhere, I would just install linux on the laptop.
And install the Windows Operating system on my Desktop.
This is something I have been thinking about from time to time.
I am operating under wine/linux it can be complicating to code in c++ in linux for windows and I honestly hate it
Just a thought. I would like to see what others think about it

If the key is OEM, you can't just use it. I "had an OEM key from somewhere" that won't work when installing but on a cracked windows, it activated online (i don't remember exactly what i did),
So be prepared for that. I would just buy the key instead = less hassle, i think the price is 99$ last i checked

The thought is promising. As well if for a few more dollars like 20 to 50 I'd rather get a laptop in this purchase instead of just an OS.
I appreciate that pointer , I will have to keep an eye out for that.

Good luck. You'll at least get a shitty laptop out of it

Windows has a utility that can change your activation key - slmgr. But if you're at that point you could just skip that step...

You can buy a refurbished laptop but make sure you buy a new hard disk for it. Normally Hard disk is the main thing and only thing which will not last if you buy a used one. So check up the processor and buy a new hard disk for the device. Because once you use the old hard disk it will crash and you will loose all your data. It happened to me once and that is why I am saying this.
