which ce version do you use?
is there a checkbox for safer scanning after selecting the physical memory process, and is it checked ?

i have no idea then. Safer memoryregions should skip device owned memory which can react to reads.
some suggestions:
after selecting the physical memory process, do not open the settings window
and as usual: perhaps something is 'protecting' you from accessing physical memory

it won't surprise me if it does. The AV might have a hook placed in the physical memory access component in windows and it may not be that well designed.
In case it is a shitty AV hook that has no clue about multithreading, then before you do a scan go to the taskmanager, details, find the cheatengine-x86_64.exe, right click it and set the affinity to only 1 cpu

Sorry to bump this but I have an old game that crashes when scanned. I'm running CE 6.8.2 and don't appear to have the 'safe memory access' option.
Actually scratch that, I think it's just crashing because of the task switch.
I can almost do my scanning without task switching by using hotkeys, except certain scan actions cause a popup in CE that must be responded to before another action can be executed. See attached.

Thanks
There's no way I can hack this without task switching though, I need to do pointer scans and stuff.
Do you know of any way of preventing games from seeing focus changes / task switching? To hide the fact that they've lost focus?

Hmm, it seems to only pause the process very briefly (for a frame or two).

Well, changing the hotkey repeat number to 1000 made the Pause work, but the game still crashes if you task switch and then unpause.
Still, thanks for all your help
