It seems there's a bug in Step 3 of the game tutorials that come with CE 6.8.1, that prevents the player character from being draw on the screen.

As a result, you have no way to control the character.

I have attached a screenshot to demonstrate the problem.

While this is not fixed, anyone has any idea on how this particular challenge can be solved even without being able to control the main character?

No, it didn't show anything. In the end, the game window ended up crashing and after restarting it, I am unable to get back to Step 3. My guess is that the game lost my progress and that's why your trick doesn't help to jump over Steps 1 and 2.

it's weird as not only the player but the bottom platform is also missing

just press down the following keys at the same time: N I W

it doesn't record your progress, it always works.

(could be your edits on the previous stepa crashed something. e.g freezing when not needed anymore)

I see what you did there!

After jumping over the first 2 steps, Step 3 rendering seems to be fine. Maybe I accidentally changed some memory value during Steps 1 and 2 that ruined Step 3 drawing.

I'll let you know if it happens again.
