Hey,

Am I missing something or are the latest 2 posts on the front page completely dodgy? The windows repair tool is identified as some sort of vigorous virus and the CE6.7 download link does not go to the github, but instead to some new concept universe website.
Is there any explanation for these?

both are good

Sure, according to virustotal just Trojan.CGeneric and PUA:Win32/InstallCore (Which it doesn't even have)
Which means it's pretty much safe

All it does it undo the damage caused by a trojan that shipped with some games. but since it touches a piece of the OS normally touched by trojans it's picked up as suspicious (CGeneric)

the download link is just a randomized url so it doesn't cost me any bandwidth and deals with issues like av's blocking the whole site because it hosts a pup.hacktool.cheatengine

Hey mate,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Ahh yeah that makes sense regarding the windows repair part there. Just curious with the randomised URL for the link, why not just point straight to the GitHub page? Or do you pay in the end for having links redirected to GitHub/will the project be flagged as malicious or something?

i don't like putting all eggs in one basket and i'm not sure but perhaps github has a bandwidth limit. (i do know it has a file limit)

also, a while ago my whole github repository got blocked(flagged) because i updated the readme.md which triggered the spam flag. it took half a day to get resolved and in the meantime the ce repository was gone. So who knows when my next commit will cause a block

And with github hosting CE they will no doubt get frequent notifications that cheat engine is malicious (hacktool) and who knows when they get an intern working there that actually believes it without fact checking and deletes it.
