I'm playing the engine ZELDA CLASSIC.
The quest I'm currently doing has a green magic bar.
I'm trying to find the values for a green bar on the right that handles the amount of magic a player has. Not sure what starting value I should use, or which next since there are no defined scale.
Any ideas?
I have attached a screenshot for reference

I've been thinking about how Zelda's magic meter works in other games like Zelda 2. Zelda 2 uses boxes to hold magic. Each box is worth 16 points. So when shield is cast it costs 16 magic (1 box), and when Jump is cast is costs 8 (half a box).
Based on that logic I'm trying to find the total magic I started with on this quest.
I currently have the Red Candle to test it.
I can use the candle exactly 12 times before it hits 0.
Therefore, it must be a multiple of 12.
Next I had to test some values for 1 cast.
I started by treating the candle the same way JUMP is treated in Zelda 2.
It costs 8, so 12 uses would be 8x12 = 96.
Thus, I set my initial value to 96.
I used the candle exactly once.
Then I set the next value to 96 - 8 = 88.
It found 96, and it had only one 2 Byte value that decremented to 88.
It looks like it's working because I set it to 192 to give me twice as much magic ( 96 * 2). It filled up my meter perfectly.
