Yeah I know I will have that issue as well. I plan on just starting learning with youtube where I've learned most of what I know so far. I'm thinking on taking a class though as well next semester either in music theory or piano to really start developing fundamentals.
Pretty much all the work I've done is just clicking in a DAW and memorizing, so I'm tryna learn to be more diverse.

AH. That's useful. I'm currently about to finish my associates then head to IT to get my bachelors then masters. Until I get a full 1.8 year deployment, I cannot get the full payment of college from my Unit. fucking geezers, but I've always wanted a side course for learning the Piano.

Here's what I started today after practicing a bit...Gonna go more in depth tomorrow. I make mostly minor songs, but I've heard its better to start learning with major. I'm gonna watch some more videos now I have no idea when I'm working tomorrow though.

If you learn something new every week and practice it an hour a day for 5 days a week, you will get really good at playing. That's what I did and I have gotten very good at piano.

my recommendation would be to learn to read the music naturally and understand it as quickly as you'd read and understand a book. identifying each note on the page and it's corrisponding spot on the piano. practice with basic shit like repeating chords and going from one end of the ekyboard to the other smoothly without lifting your hand off the piano (both forwards and backwards).
then you've got the basics. you needa learn to walk before you run. after that you can continue to familiarize yourself with how each note sounds and it will get to a point where it's so natural you can hear a song and on your own figure out how to recreate the song on the piano.
