Cheat Engine

Im playing an old 2d game and i am trying to use cheat engine to scan the map for a certain monster and display its coordinates to me. how would i go about achieving this?

A certain monster...as in, a certain type, or an individual monster (i.e. there's only one of them, ever)?

Display the coordinates, how? On your screen, or in your table?

its a boss monster called King Scorpion and it spawns at random coordinates in floor 1 of a cave. also this game shows us constant coordinates as we move i think its x,y right now im stood at 302,74 so i just want it to somehow scan for the King Scorpion and return its coordinates somehow maybe inside a trainer or inside the game screen somehow.

Having the coordinates display in the game is going to be harder, but getting them to display in your table or trainer is easy.

Since it's a 2-d game, the monster may or may not spawn until you can see it or are very close to it. Can you verify that? Does it matter to you?

Can you name the game? What platform are you running it on (emulator, PC, browser etc.)?

The first thing you'll need to do is find the monster's coordinates (assuming it moves...if it's an RPG and randomly appears, you may be out of luck). There are several different ways you can go about this, depending on how the game handles that data. Once you do that, just write a basic script and you may be done...or you may have to include a filter.

the boss spawns regardless of whether i am there or not so it will always be on the map its just that its in a random location. So i can go and find the boss and then would i find its address by typing its name into cheat engine King Scorpion? or is that address only for its name and not for its location.

Does the boss move, or it it stationary like an rpg?

the boss can move and walk around inside the level

Then start by finding the boss coordinates. If you have to find a way to stay invincible first, then do that.

If you want to learn how to do everything, I can help you, assuming it's not an online game. Can you not tell me the name of the target?

target = exe? if so its mir2.exe

i can find the boss but do you mean find the coordinates of the spot where the boss is stood? the boss wanders around on its own sometimes too if nobody is there so it may move 1 or 2 steps

its a private version of an old game that is no longer available called legend of mir 2.

also as i said before i can see the coordinates of my current position. i would probably be able to work out the position of the boss but it could move as it does wander.

i already answered your question in a previous reply if your refering to "do you know how to find coordinates" also i did ask you if you had skype to make it easier than refreshing a forum but you didnt answer that.

Im a novice with cheat engine dont forget that.
