I have a PS4, but after every AAA game I played lagging (usually dipping below 30fps @ 1080p), it's now just collecting dust as a glorified netflix streamer.

faff what kind of internet connection/screen are you using? I've seen/played with PS4's with better performance than what you claim.. Im no expert but there is no way it's capped at 30 fps

it's all dependent on the game, but most are 720-900p 30/60 fps. few make it to 1080p and consistent 30 fps

How would you know, assuming not everything is revealed in the trailer

he's talking about how preorders are fucking stupid. i don't understand it either. you can just buy it after someone has tried it so you don't /want something you know nothing about/ or /only know what people trying to get you to buy it/ have served you.

regretted preordering bioshock 2. could have just waited, seen it was mediocre, bought it on sale (or pirated), or i could've known how shit it was after a week of waiting and bought it anyways /for the same price/

you are right. rule of thumb is to never buy a game unless it's multiplayer. unless you think the devs really deserved it. and publishers and etc. get retarded amounts of moneys like Neutral

and then they'll buy out game studios and kick the devs out, so you'll just be paying corporate and not the people who made it.

and even though bioshock 2 had multiplayer, it was tacked on & made by a separate dev -- primarily a singleplayer game

connected via ethernet (on a 60/60 connection) but that's not the problem. Any game I play tries to do 1080/30, and fails at it.

Examples?
- The Witcher 3: I love this game, runs smooth as fuck... on my pc. This game, which I bought day 1, dips down to I swear the single digits in FPS whenever you ran around town. It's ridiculous, and quite literally turns me off from playing anymore.

- Bloodborne: Also got this game really recently since it came out. Results? I'm not sure if it's a feature at this point, but the FPS is laughable. Sure, it's still playable, but I'm going to be muuuch more willing to play a smooth game than something which lags.

Like, I honestly want to like my PS4, but when Sony tells almost every major company to push for 1080/30 rather than 720/60 it's really disheartening. Like, the PS4 isn't the powerhouse that Sony brags it to be and I'd rather opt for a smoother experience than a prettier one at this point.

So now, I just game 1400p/85fps/ultra on my computer without a hitch (ironically, playing with my PS4 controller) and leaving it at that.
