Cheat Engine

It's a dead serious question.

I read a lot, I'm always studying. It's not always school material. It can be anything. I have been into Cheat Engine since Middle School, and I've been into scripting for a little over two years, and I admit, I do not know shit. No one is responsible for my predicament, but myself. Don't misunderstand, I'm not looking for guides or resources on how to be great in the disassembly game (that is, dissecting the physics of a game's inner workings). When I read, it's usually about the biographies of the great, an overview of their personality, their quotes, what they did in their free time, and pure inspiration. I find no such literature pertaining to Dark_Byte. That guy's pretty much a hermit. A legend that sleeps in a cave. Cheat Engine has inspired so many big trainers/ESP/aim assist programs I know. Ask every single person you know that has ever made a cheat program/bot/trainer for a game. At least for me, there hasn't been a single one that has not heard of Cheat Engine. Yet, only a percentage of them know who created it, the very same people who know how to work it on a very experienced scale and help me out with stuff. A great mind so anti-social, yet so productive and helpful, strangely reminds me of Nikola Tesla.

Find something you enjoy, get really good at it, don't talk about it too much.

At Dark Byte's level, you'd probably just have to make it your career. This is my third year studying at university and I still don't know jack shit. I do know enough to work at a company but I still don't know jack shit. So if you want to get good like Dark Byte, you will have to spend many years and commit to it. Actually commit, not like feeling serious about it today and then slowly waning off after that. Best way to do that (despite all these idiots saying "Oh you can do it online for free!") is to actually get a formal education on it as it gets your mind to take it seriously.

Edit: You could learn some basic windows form application tools and learn basics about how pointers work and learn assembly and you'd be able to do this specific thing in maybe like a year, but your skillset will be too specific and your code will just be horrible in many ways. There's more to coding than just making applications work.
