Hey !
I been using this software for many years and never really been on the forums here. I seem to be having a issue with pointers. I think i am correctly filtering them. Such as Close game, restart pc, etc. I got the values down from around 29,000,000 to 2,600. The 2,600 pointers left, i save and run on another computer to then get 0.
I am not really to much experienced with the pointers, etc. I do have a code i heard i might need to put a break point on the pointer and see what writes to it. I did that and ended up here.
77BBEC63 - 90 - nop
77BBEC64 - 8A 06 - mov al,[esi]
77BBEC66 - 88 07 - mov [edi],al <<
77BBEC68 - 8B 45 08 - mov eax,[ebp+08]
77BBEC6B - 5E - pop esi
EAX=0019EF6A
EBX=0033B680
ECX=00000000
EDX=00000001
ESI=0019EFC4
EDI=0033B680 < - Pointer
ESP=0019EF34
EBP=0019EF3C
EIP=77BBEC68
What i'm trying to do is watch a textbox in a game. So if i type /volume my program can read that then change volume.
Well i hope to hear some feed back! Please and thanks!

29000000 isn't much, try a higher level and/or structsize
the code you found is useless as it's just a copy function of the OS(string copy most likely)
also, before trying to find a pointer always make sure the address has effect on the game when changed (and not just visual)

Yes i have done that the value worked perfect, if i froze it to String "Hi" in the game it would make textbox stuck to "Hi" normal, it worked for a week before changed pointer. The code i wrote and module i used was perfect maybe i can upload it here? Just when the pointer changed when i though i had it of course the program broke.
Game + pointer + offsets.
I did find many from system and other files like that. But i don't want to mess with the os and stuff just the game.
Edit: it is a very old game. War2BNE not dos.
Edit2: Still working on this i'm trying a level 9, now i'm getting hundreds of millions. Well i got some work to do thanks i will edit back.

The address are going to be different on different PC's because of things installed on that computer. the game will take what ever addresses are free.
Example- If my health is at 005F285E on my computer it might be at 02440E40 on my sisters computer because 005F285E is already taken by another program. You will have to rehack whatever it is and find the new pointers because everything moved.
I hope that might help or it might be not what your talking about.

Sometimes you have to combine all method into one like aob+injection+cmp+pointer to pinpoint the address.
but isn't that an old game,why you're going so deep using the pointerscan?
there are not many old games had a deep level pointer for the address.
try to do it manually if you must and combine the method.

Yeah still not able to solve all this yet. Not that pro with cheat engine just basic stuff. Maybe a point in the right direction?
aob+injection+cmp+pointer to pinpoint the address.
